The route passes through the Pochutla–Huatulco corridor. As of August 7, 2026, the SICT-announced restricted-traffic period is scheduled through August 31, 2026. The actual drive can therefore take longer than the normal 2–2.5 hour estimate.
Barra de la Cruz is a community-managed surf destination east of Huatulco. Local access rules or community fees are separate from the transportation service and can change. Bring Mexican pesos and follow the instructions in place when you arrive rather than relying on an old fee quoted online.
Normally about 2–2.5 hours for roughly 86 miles (139 km), but current Highway 200 works can add time.
