Huatulco International Airport (HUX) is the natural airport for Bahías de Huatulco and the eastern part of the Oaxaca Coast. La Crucecita and the main Huatulco hotel zones are short airport transfers; Mazunte, Zipolite, San Agustinillo and Puerto Ángel are farther west along Highway 200.
- La Crucecita: about 12 mi (19 km), usually 20–25 minutes.
- Santa Cruz/Tangolunda: roughly 12–15 mi (20–23 km), around 20–25 minutes depending on the hotel.
- Mazunte: about 30 mi (48 km), typically 50–60 minutes before any roadwork delays.
- Zipolite: about 27 mi (43 km), typically around 45–60 minutes before any roadwork delays.
Choose the destination, not just 'Huatulco'
Huatulco is spread across distinct areas. La Crucecita is the town center; Santa Cruz is the marina/port area; Tangolunda is the principal resort corridor. Give the exact hotel or neighborhood when requesting transportation because drive time and drop-off access depend on the zone.

Public transportation requires more planning
Do not assume that every intercity bus departs directly from the HUX terminal. If you plan to use a bus or colectivo, verify the current departure point and connection for your travel date. A pre-arranged transfer removes that extra terminal-to-bus-station step.
