Zicatela: surf and nightlife
Zicatela is Puerto Escondido's best-known surf beach and one of the strongest reasons experienced surfers travel here. It also has bars, restaurants and nightlife. The trade-off is important: the powerful shorebreak and currents make it a poor choice if your priority is casual swimming with children.
