You do not have to be nude to stay in or visit Zipolite. Clothing-optional beach culture is normalized, and different parts of the beach can feel more or less nudist. The useful rule is simple: respect consent, privacy and each property's own policies.

Ocean safety matters more than beach culture
Zipolite's open-ocean setting can produce powerful surf and rip currents. Swim only when conditions and flags allow it, stay close to shore, and avoid entering the water at night or after drinking. If you mainly want easy swimming, nearby San Agustinillo is usually a better base.
Getting to Zipolite
Huatulco Airport is generally the closest airport; Puerto Escondido Airport is another common gateway from the west. Public transportation normally connects through the Pochutla area and local colectivos. With luggage or a late arrival, a pre-arranged direct transfer is simpler.
When the town is busiest
Holiday periods and the annual nudist gathering can make Zipolite substantially busier. Event dates and local operating conditions should be checked for the specific year rather than copied from an old calendar.
